In Grahames’s story, a young boy discovers a poetry-loving dragon living in Down above his home. The two become friends, but soon afterwards the dragon is discovered by the townsfolk, who send for St George to rid them of him. The boy introduces St George to the dragon, and the two decide that it would be better for them not to fight. Eventually, they decide to stage a fake joust between the two combatants. Come join us to see who wins the joust and if the townsfolk accept the dragon.

 We are looking for hardworking, energetic performers who aren’t afraid to get into character in front of their family and friends, project their voice, and have a good time!  If that’s you, sign up for Chevy Chase Elementary’s, The Reluctant Dragon.  Tryouts will be on Thursday, October 9 to determine the roles.  The rehearsals will begin the following week and will meet on the days listed below. The performance date is Thursday, March 12^th  for a daytime and evening show.  Please note:  Registration is on a first come, first served basis.

Cast members are responsible for their costumes with guidance from the director.

Final performance of the winter play will be on Thursday, March 12^th at 2:00 and at 7:00pm.
